This is a true new business development role, ideal for a motivated sales professional who thrives on identifying opportunities, building relationships, and winning new contracts. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering significant growth across Scotland, targeting the hospitality and healthcare sectors, with future expansion into facilities management and related industries.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across key sectors.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with ambitious growth objectives.
- Build, manage, and convert a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
- Generate leads through cold outreach, networking, industry events, referrals, and market research.
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, and professional sales presentations.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Negotiate and close commercial agreements while ensuring a seamless handover to operational teams.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity updates.
- Provide regular pipeline forecasting and performance reporting.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
Collaboration & Brand Representation
- Work closely with operational and customer service teams to ensure excellent client outcomes.
- Represent the business at trade shows, networking events, and industry forums.
- Promote the organisation's sustainability, compliance, and ESG credentials throughout the sales process.
Target Sectors
Hospitality
Working with independent hotels, boutique hotel groups, golf resorts, wedding venues, and hospitality operators throughout Scotland.
Care Homes & Healthcare
Developing relationships with care home groups, private healthcare providers, clinics, and healthcare operators seeking reliable, compliant, and sustainable service solutions.
Facilities Management & Commercial Services
Building partnerships with facilities management providers and commercial organisations requiring high-quality outsourced textile and linen services.
About You
Essential Experience
- Successful B2B field sales experience.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting through to contract award.
- Excellent presentation and communication abilities.
- Strong commercial awareness and pricing discipline.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Scotland.
Desirable Experience
- Experience selling into hospitality, healthcare, care homes, facilities management, or commercial service sectors.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement and tender processes.
- Existing network within Scottish hospitality, healthcare, or care sectors.
- Understanding of sustainability, ESG initiatives, and carbon reduction strategies.
- Experience within linen hire, textiles, commercial laundry, or related service industries.
- Degree or professional qualification in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related discipline.
